About the artist

Monique Porter is an artist based in Athens, Georgia, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in Interdisciplinary Art. She has taken courses in the areas of interior design, graphic design, and printmaking with a strong background in drawing and digital photography.

Showcasing a wide variety of subjects, Porter enjoys capturing life’s moments through her camera. From the surprise of a wedding engagement to the success of a baseball play, you can find her taking photos wherever excitement calls. Similarly, any design work stems from her daily surroundings as well as tidbits from a very active imagination. Whether it be the typography on this week’s to-do list or the doodles drawn on the edges of paperwork, she is constantly creating.

Porter has worked as a freelance photographer since 2017. She has also completed photography projects on campus in Athens, Georgia as a member of the UGA Wesley Foundation, the UGA Fashion Design Student Association, and the UGA Athletics’ Dawg Choice Awards. She currently interns at UGA Wesley as a media intern, supervising student photographers and acting as the head photographer for the organization.
